Born in Colombia, Lucrecia Dalt (born 20 December 1980) has carved out a distinctive space in contemporary music. Her trajectory from civil engineer to sound artist began while working at a geotechnical company in Medellín, where she discovered computer-based music production—a revelation that completely redirected her life and creative focus. As a sound artist she made name with her trilogy on the label RVNG Intl. which ended with ¡Ay!. The recent A Danger to Ourselves is her most ambitious and personal album to date, with contributions by illustrious guests such as Juana Molina and David Sylvian.
