Spoken word was his contribution on the first, and blues guitar his part on the last. ‘It took me quite a while to understand what I needed to do to it, lyric wise and sonic wise,’ says Lucrecia. ‘My initial idea was to craft a blues that felt frozen, as if coated in monstrous tar – an icy, suffocating heaviness. Then David came up with the name ‘Covenstead Blues’, which resonates perfectly with the themes woven into the lyrics.
