Last three tracks only on limited edition bonus CD.
Remix of Wave by David Sylvian.
Plight (the spiraling of winter ghosts) is a detail of the original released by Sylvian/Czukay and remixed by David Sylvian.
Upon This Earth remixed by David Sylvian.
15. Mutability (a new beginning is in the offing)* detail ONLY on Japanese version.
Superb performance of Nils Petter Molvaer on Mother and Child!
Limited edition comes in a digipack with a bonus CD. Beautiful packaging. 'Booklet' is a fold-out poster, with a magnificent picture by Kevin Westenberg.
Album is dedicated to David's manager and best friend, Richard Chadwick and to Declan Colgan. Design of the artwork is (of course) by Russell Mills, with assistance of Michael Webster.
Note: Upon This Earth is not included on the inlay's tracklist.
Limited edition bonus CD:
1. Plight (the spiraling of winter ghosts)* (originally released as Sylvian/Czukay)
2. Mutability (a new beginning is in the offing)* detail (originally released as Sylvian/Czukay)
3. Premonition (giant empty iron vessel)* (originally released as Sylvian/Czukay)
Remixes* by David Sylvian.
The Japanese version: Besides having an obi, the Japanese version differs from the regular version by having a bonus track, Mutability (version), that can also be found on the bonus CD of the limited edition. In the tracklist on the back-inlay, no word of this extra track. The obi and the extra Japanese inlay mention it though. This additional Japanese inlay contains liner notes from some Japanese critic and from David, slightly different from his notes on the US press release and with the following remarkable paragraph:
"Virgin are in the process of re-mastering the solo catalogue and are including the Alchemy CD previously only available as part of the limited edition " Weatherbox" set. Pieces that failed to find a home on the compilation ( Steel cathedrals, Words with the Shaman) will once be widely available"
