Sorry for my poor english. Thank you for all the moments of excitement and joy your music brings to me. Noone can put the atmosphere in music as you can do. I'm really impressed in what you're achieving. Please go on, please go on. Thank you. Chris Dewamme

An awsome resource
While leaving David Sylvian to do his marketing through his official site, you've really captured the essence of what must be one of the best fan/resource sites ever. Like many people I grew up with his music and the depth of info, pics and files provided on your site is just fabulous. thank you.

Soooo different
Okay, so I come with tail tucked firmly between legs cuz I've fallen off the David bandwagon for several years. But my curiosity is completely piqued - has he had facial surgery? He looks COMPLETELY different. Looking at recent pictures I would never recognize him. Is this something he has discussed? Again, just curious....

Memories...
I feel that I have to write something on this site. In the early 80's as a young lad at Boarding School in Brighton I was more interested listening to Japan than anything else. I was transfixed by so many tracks with my favourite being Taking Islands in Africa as I now read others have mentioned. It was as if I had found something that no-one else knew about listening to this and others over and over and in another world. Having saved up to see them in concert in Brighton both in 1981 and 1982 (I think they were the years) it was an amazing time to be growing up with so many memories linked in with Japan, the clothes, the artwork and design of the Tin Drum album cover, the intro of Quiet Life, Mick Karn's stance when he was playing the guitar and everyone wanted David's hair. So ahead of their time and so true, a moment in time and for me the world was waiting for me to take it all by storm...At 43 I am now telling my two children of those times and they like Japan too. I can only say thank you to those responsible for this site and apologise for living in the past but hey it was bloody amazing. Perhaps it is time to listen to what David has been doing now and move on...it has been a long time.

The First Day
Hi Bugsy,
You can find the lyrics of the song "The First Day"in the booklet of the original release of the live album \"Damage\", and the second Trophies book.

Blemish
Hi all, I'm new here but have been a huge fan of David's music since the Japan days when I was but a young boy. I felt I should just introduce myself and show my excitement at the prospect of yet another masterpiece "Manafon". I am dying to get immersed in it. "Blemish" has had such a profound effect on me since its release that I barely listen to anything else. This is confusing for most people I know as they view it as just out of tune noise really...but theyre not listening. It has become my favourite alltime album and is inspiring me as I write my new album "Lull". Cheers for now.

Wire
Thank you very much for the incredibly valuable information of two magazines which have David's interviews. I dashed to a few book shops and supermarkets to obtaine them. When I looked at "Wire", I was delighted to see him on the cover! This is my treasure. I love the photo of him smiling. I hadn't seen him smiling like that for many years. However, Mojo has already October issues on the shelf. I can't believe it! I may get it from the publisher.

Rediscovered
I was a HUGE fan of Japan, and followed David up until Secrets of the Beehive, I actually did see Japan and David on the Shaman tour. Then my life took a different turn from the introspective teenager I had been and I lost touch with the music. Now in my 40's - just, I am rediscovering him, and had forgotten how heart rendingly beautiful his work is. I am looking forward to hearing his new release and catching up on what I missed out on! Hopefully he may tour again soon, so I can see him in action again, glad there is a site to pour this all out in!!

I just stumbled upon your site and all the wonderful things on youtube. The remixes by Modesto and Montecristo are just superb, it seems one cant cant enough. I had to laugh at at the one reviewer who discovered Sylvian thru the Love of Life track from Monster, I myself more or less discovered Sylvian from the Merry Christmas sndtrk and since then its been every 45 ep lp cd etc. I could get. It has been such a great journey and Im looking forward to the future in many ways, life can be beautiful if you know how to look.
